Japanese
House

Our family
lives
in a
traditional
Japanese
house
with
a lovely
garden

in
summer
it is
nice
and cool
inside
while
the
world
sweats
outside

in winter
however

we live
in
a 4 1/2 mat
Tea Ceremony
room
and

seldom
travel

to
other
parts
of the
house

unless
we have
to

Remember
then

not to
visit
us

in winter

for
we are
all
huddled
together
in a
small room
and

resemble
a
giant
octopus

Baffled

although
Japanese
women

are
popular

among
foreign
men

they
are not
popular

among
foreign
women

Champagne

Far
too many
of us

were
introduced
to
Shakespeare

even before
the legal
drinking age

and soon
got drunk
on
his words

and the
wonderful
cadences
of his
sentences

Later
in life

some of us
were
lucky enough
to discover

the
Eastern
mystics
and
masters

and

slowly

slowly

became
less
and less

satisfied
with
the Bard

as
we read
more
and more

of the
great works

no longer

through
the passage
of our
Christian minds

glimpsing
new
worlds

at
depths
Shakespeare

never
dreamed of

Party

I
often find
myself

at
parties

in
5 star
hotels

among
one star
people

You & Me

You
say

I
believe
in God

Does
it mean

God
believes
in you?

I
say

I don't
believe
in God

Does
it mean

God
does
not believe
in me?

Hmm,,,

Writing

When
you write
a poessay

all
you need
is
a pen

and
some paper

if
you can

then
that is
all you need

if
you can't
you can't

and

the
latest computer
won't be
of much help

Logic

When
my classes
go well

I know
it is
because
I'm
a great
language
teacher

and
when
my classes
go badly

I know
it is
because
my students
are terrible

Born Again

I often
very often
hear
Japanese say
they
would like
to visit
India

The
Land
of
Buddha

before
they
die

I
always
tell them
to go

as soon as
they can

for
should
they die

the desire

will be
carried
with them
and

they

could be
born again

as
Indians
